Greater Noida market report

Greater Noida is located in the Gautam Budh Nagar district of the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP). It is under the purview of the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. It is located about 40-kilometre (25 mi) south-east of New Delhi and about 20-kilometre (12 mi) south-east of Noida, one of the largest industrial townships in Asia.

The development of Greater Noida is managed by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). Greater Noida is a fast growing region, on a trajectory to be one of the largest industrial and education hubs of India.

Infrastructure

The idea was to create a world class city. The city was planned to be situated approximately 25 km from Noida. By including a railway station and an international airport, Greater Noida is intended to develop as an independent city.

Greater Noida is a planned township. Roads are wide with service lanes for every major road. The sectors are named by letters of the Greek alphabet. All cabling and utilities are run underground. It is currently planned to be connected to Delhi through Delhi’s metro system by 2016.

A number of tourism and entertainment projects are under development in Greater Noida. This includes the Greater Noida Night Safari, a Formula One circuit for the Indian Grand Prix and an 18 hole golf course called the Jaypee Greens, designed by Greg Norman. Greater Noida was the site for some events of the 2010 Commonwealth Games, being hosted by New Delhi. An International Airport is under development near Jewar village of Greater Noida.

Recently there has been a spurt in the development of shopping malls and retail stores. Major retail chains such as Tata Croma, More Retail, Reliance Fresh, Reliance Footprints, Lilliput kIDSWEAR etc. have set up.

There are a high number of good hospitals, shopping arcades, schools, engineering colleges and management schools in the city.

Industry

Greater Noida is home to a number of Indian and foreign multi-national companies. There are a number of private educational institutions as well, so it is also known as the Educational Park.

The city is home to numerous companies like Alstom, BPCL R&D centre, Asian Paints, Daewoo Motors, Delphi automotive, Honda Siel Cars India, New Holland Tractors, NTPC Dadri, Yamaha Motors, Minda Corporation Limited, i3 Consulting, Arunodaya Graphics Pvt Ltd, Sharda Motor Industries ltd, HiGlance Laboratoires Pvt. Ltd.

There are various IT and Biotech companies in the area like NIIT, Wipro Technologies, Yashoda Hospital & Research Centre, HCL Technologies, LG Electronics, Moser Baer, Samsung Electronics, Franciscan Solutions, STMicroelectronics, C&S Efacec MV India Pvt ltd.

There has been a lot of real estate development in Greater Noida in the recent years. Some of the societies that have come up or are under development are Unitech, Silver City, Parsvnath, Eldeco, Ansal among many others.
